What’s the most epic adventure you've ever been on?
When COVID cancelled all of my weddings, I threw my kids in the car and we went camping in 12 national parks out west. I spent a month hiking and driving and adventuring with my favorite people- that trip will always be hard to top!
If you weren’t a photographer, what would you be?
Maybe something in marketing or a school teacher.

What is the first thing you'd do if you won the lottery?
Book a trip :) Then probably pay off my mortgage!
If money wasn't an obstacle, what would you be doing with your life?
The same! I literally wouldn’t change a thing!

I played the clarinet in an orchestra.

Golden Retriever :) No honestly, I would love to speak Spanish.
What’s the best advice you’d give your teenage self?
Worry less about making other people happy! Beat to your own drum.
What’s inspiring you in life right now?
I just got back from a trip to Kenya and I’m so inspired. I’m proud of myself for saving and paying for it, but also it was such a life changing experience and we learned so much about life in the bush.
What is your favorite go-to movie and why?
Mama Mia - I just freaking love Merle Streep and the music, but its such a great movie about following your dreams.
What’s the best piece of advice you've ever gotten?
My Dad always said if you can find a job you love, you’ll never have to work a day in your life.

When do you feel like you're the most authentic you?
Traveling with a camera in hand, documenting somewhere new to me.
Describe the perfect Sunday.
Sleeping in a little (usually with a wedding hangover), brunch with my family, hike on the Parkway, and hanging with friends at a local Asheville brewery.

I wish I was a better cook! I have no patience and I’m embarrassed to say I have NEVER baked a cake.
What are you really into right now?
I’ve been going to a new gym, Hotworx, where you work out in 130 degree heat! It’s insane.
What’s your biggest accomplishment?
My husband and I designed and built our house about 5 years ago. It was literally the most challenging and stressful thing we’ve ever been through together, but we did it!
Why do you think your business is so successful?
I work really hard for my clients and honestly really love what I do. My business has grown through the relationships I’ve made along the way and I’m constantly trying to learn and get better at my craft. Even after 14 years, there’s still so much to learn and explore. The day I start to get complacent is the day I should probably quit.
Any advice to share with a new photographer starting out?
Shoot everything you can and at every time of day! Don't be afraid to fail and ask questions and volunteer your time. Shoot with as many other photographers as you can and try a 365 project to really force your attention on something for an entire year.
