I'm so excited to post this Biltmore Bridal Session and even more excited to say as of yesterday Courtney is now officially my sister-in-law. Brooke Priddy of Ship to shore designed Courtney's one of a kind dress using pieces of her Mother and Grandmothers wedding dresses. We were thrilled that Candace from Mingle Events could bring some of her props to the shoot and really had a lot of fun playing around with the vintage travel theme. The McIntosh family pretty much love everything with a wheel on it and my brother-in-law is going to just die when he sees his bride on this vintage Bicycle. We timed the shoot with Courtney's run through with her hair stylist at Suraj Spa & Salon and squeezed in 30 minutes of shooting before our session was cut short due to an absolute down pour! Big thanks also to Bella Blooms for designing this special bouquet for Courtney.

Emma & Dave's Intimate Wedding | The Walled Garden, Biltmore Estate
This intimate destination wedding on Biltmore Estate was simply lovely! Here's a handful of my favorite images. Click Here to see more.
Blackberry Farm, Tennessee
Veering away from weddings here for a second to share some images from our weekend at Blackberry farm. My husband and I had dreamed about visiting for a couple of years and I finally made reservations for Bryan's Christmas gift last year. It seemed a much better idea to gift an experience over something material, and more importantly to have a couple of days to ourselves. So with the help of my amazing Mother-in-law, we escaped the every day craziness and enjoyed a weekend of relaxing, riding bikes, and completing sentences without interruptions. I immediatly fell in love with the property, and the food and service was incredible! Blackberry farm was truly a treat and everything we had hoped it would be. Now I just have to find a client who wants me to photograph their wedding there so I can return one day.
Wedding Portraits in the Rain | Biltmore Estate
One of the benefits of shooting in the rain.
Ainslie & Adrian | A Biltmore Wedding in the Champagne Cellar
The Champagne Cellar at the Winery on Biltmore Estate is the absolute perfect place for an intimate destination wedding. Ainslie and Adrian treated their friends and family to quite the experience! It was such an escape for their wedding guests while they joined together with them to celebrate their love and commitment to each other. The cellar was decorated beautifully by The Flower Gallery and the food and service from the Biltmore staff was impeccable as always. Ainslie and Adrian chose to do a first look at the Inn which allowed us to take advantage of the estate and make some portraits before the festivities began. I think my favorite moment of the day has to be the epic 'cake smash' there at the end! I wasn't expecting that from these too ;)
Elopement Wedding | Asheville, NC
I think that there's something terribly romantic about eloping and Jen & Jon's wedding was exactly that! I was honored to be their only guest and thoroughly enjoyed sharing this special time with them.
Bridal Portraits | Landrum, South Carolina
This equestrian bridal session in Landrum, South Carolina was nothing short of gorgeous! Who doesn't love a bridal session in the country with beautiful light, a fantastic couple, four horses, a great dane and a grey hound RIGHT?
I photographed Ginny and Jarrod's wedding in Asheville yesterday and even though Ginny was wearing a different dress I thought I should wait to post these until after their big day. Ginny loves her animals so much and I (who have never rode a horse bedsides you know a donkey at the beach) really enjoyed learning how to care for horses and what amazing temperaments they have. Ginny and Jarrod’s love for each other is so sweet and I am honored to have been their wedding photographer.
Spring Engagement Session | Biltmore Estate
Carolyn and Josh are so much fun to be around and we had such a great time talking about our families and their upcoming wedding plans! Spring was just starting to appear at Biltmore and we were grateful the rain held off for an hour while we took some quick portraits in the Walled Garden.
A Winter Engagement Session | Biltmore Estate
Meet Evan, my brother-in law! He is beyond awesome and when he picked Courtney for me to spend the rest of my life with, I was so excited. You may recognize this pair from a previous session in Charleston last summer but when you're related to a wedding photographer having just one engagement session quite simply isn't enough. We couldn't resist visiting the Biltmore Estate this wintery afternoon after several inches of snow. Courtney and Evan are getting married there this June and it’s one of their favorite places to spend time together with their pup Jack.
Courtney's red coat and the green pines in contrast to the crisp white snow was so beautiful. I shot this session with both film and on my Mark iii and although we can't take credit for this snowman below, isn't he fantastic!
Couple's Choice Award
It was so great to hear that I have just been awarded the Couples' Choice Award from Wedding Wire. Thanks so much to all of my clients last year who took the time to provide a review and give some awesome feedback.
Erin + Brian Mountain Wedding | Biltmore Estate
I need to warn you, there are probably too many images in this blog post, but I really have to share this wedding in its entiretity with you. This day was more than beautiful, and fun, and Erin and Brian planned so much time for photography - it was amazing! The mountain views, the people, the floral design everything!
So there's your warning and now I'm going to let the photographs tell the story. Oh and don't forget to check out the amazing vendor line up at the end of the post.

Wildflower Bridal | The Grand Opening of Asheville's New Bridal Boutique
Wildflower is a beautiful bridal boutique nestled in the heart of Biltmore Park, Asheville. Their wedding dresses are absolutly stunning, with accessories to die for. The boutique was designed with the help of Sparc-Design Architects, who created an outstanding space with a luxurious and intimate experience in mind! I was so glad to be apart of the grand opening and to spend some time with Margaux and her team during this special occasion.
Here are a couple of images from our afternoon.

Erin + Brian | Rehearsal Dinner at Deerpark, Biltmore Estate
Erin & Brian met and fell in love while working in some of the restaurants at Biltmore and couldn't imagine tying the knot anywhere else! They planned their wedding weekend perfectly with the help of Tamara from Belle Soiree Weddings. Celebrations kicked off with their rehearsal on dry cow hill followed by dinner at Deerpark and s'mores by the fire. The Biltmore floral team decorated their tables with vintage crates and lace and the twinkle lights made for a cozy atmosphere. I can't wait to share more images with you all from this amazing Biltmore wedding! The ceremony behind the house and mountain backdrop was just incredible.
Zetty + Greg's Winter Wedding | Lioncrest at Biltmore Estate
Zetty & Greg planned such a lovely winter wedding at Lioncrest on Biltmore Estate. Greg enlisted the help of his college roommate and good friend Joel from Curly Willow Designs of SC. Joel took Zetty's idea of bringing the outside in and incorporated Christmas trees, drapery and decorated the tables with greens and white roses. Their guests traveled far and wide for this destination wedding and the Biltmore team as always exceeded every expectation. I was excited when the rain let up just long enough for us to venture up to the Biltmore House for some quick portraits, and so happy that Zetty and Greg chose me to photograph their beautiful wedding!
Jacksonville Bride Magazine
Super excited to see Elaine & Chris's wedding featured in Jacksonville's Bride magazine this Fall! Their wedding and the entire trip to Florida last Spring was so much fun.
Sarah + Jon Engagement Session | Biltmore Estate
Chestnut Flats | Wedding Venue & Event Space, Burnsville NC
I was so excited to photograph the opening brunch at Chestnut Flats last weekend!
Brock + Kelly Proposal | Biltmore Estate
I was so excited when Brock got in touch and asked me to photograph this epic moment of his life! I'm pretty sure I was more nervous than he was and when the moment finally arrived none of us even noticed the rain. This truly was one of the most romantic moments I've had the honor of capturing.
